Alcatel’s First Firefox OS Based Tablet Will Be Available Later This Year, For 79 Euro

Hello Firefox OS Enthusiasts. As you may know, Alcatel is an early Firefox OS supporter, being the first mobile manufacturer that has released Firefox OS based smartphones.

At MWC 2014, Alcatel has announced their next Firefox OS based phones and tablets: the Alcatel One Touch Fire C, Alcatel One Touch Fire E, Alcatel One Touch Fire S phones and the Alcatel One Touch Fire 7 tablet.

New information about the Alcatel One Touch Fire 7 has been released. Among others, the first Firefox OS based Alcatel  tablet has a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display (540 x 960), a Dual-Core 1.2 GHz cpu, VGA front and back cameras, 2 GB RAM memory, 4 GB internal storage + support for MicroSD card up to 32 GB.

The tablet will be available for about 79 Euro, starting with the third quarter of 2014.

For those who don’t know yet, Firefox OS is a new Linux based mobile operating system, built by using the new HTML5 technology by the Mozilla developers. For now, it is used as default on smartphones with modest hardware specs, developed by LG, ZTE, Alcatel and Geeksphone.
