Android 4.4 KitKat May Be Based On Kernel 3.10

Hello Linux and Android Enthusiasts. As you may know, Android 4.4 KitKat is about to be released, most probably with LG Nexus 5. And it looks like Android 4.4 KitKat will be based on the Linux Kernel 3.10, which has became stable in July 2013.

Android 4.4 KitKat May Be Based On Kernel 3.10

The Linux Kernel 3.10 came with better support for the 64 bit ARM architecture, KVM optimizations, an improved ext4 file system and so, Google considered it stable enough to become Android KitKat’s Kernel.

If Android KitKat will be based on Kernel 3.10, it will support bleeding edge hardware and may become a reliable operating systems even for laptops. I am very interested in the Google Nexus devices since they have official support for Canonical’s Ubuntu Touch.
