Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Calculator App is part of the Ubuntu Touch Core Apps, a series of applications created by third party developers, guided by the Ubuntu developers, for the Ubuntu Phone. The latest version available is Calculator App 0.1.3, which comes with some improvements.
The developers have improved the calculation precision and have removed some faulty situations with unclear results.
In this article I will show you how to install Calculator App 0.1.3 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail and Ubuntu 13.10 Quantal Quetzal. Because Linux Mint is 100 % compatible with Ubuntu, this installation guide should also be valid for Linux Mint 16 Petra and Linux Mint 15 Olivia.
In order to use the applications from the Ubuntu Touch Core Apps package on the desktop versions of Ubuntu, we also have to install Ubuntu SDK, which is available via a third party ppa. This is what you have to do to install Ubuntu Calculator App 0.1.3, on Ubuntu:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-sdk-team/ppa
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-touch-coreapps-drivers/daily
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install ubuntu-sdk ubuntu-calculator-app
