Today, Canonical has been working a lot at their Ubuntu Touch lately, trying to release a new OTA Update every 6 weeks.

Right now, the developers are struggling to adopt the Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus as code base for Ubuntu Touch and to implemented the Qt 5.5 toolkit. For now, Ubuntu Xenial is implemented on the devel-proposed channel only, which is the most unstable development branch of Ubuntu Touch.
Adopting a new code base is very difficult, because it causes a lot of issues and the developers need to squash a lot of bugs.
