Canonical has announced that they are working hard, in order to develop a Facebook App for Ubuntu Touch, the mobile version of the Ubuntu Linux operating system. The application should be released later this year.

In order to provide the user an easier usage, the Facebook App will integrate with th phone’s interface, allowing the user to launch it directly from the phone homescreen and providing message notifications in the message bar.
In the last couple of months, Canonical worked hard at improving Ubuntu Touch. They have recently added a new updater and created this presentation video, sharing with us some usability details of Ubuntu Touch. Despite the fact that the Ubuntu Edge did not get created afterall, don’t worry. Ubuntu Touch should work well on the Google Nexus phones and tablets.
