Clementine 1.2 Has Been Released | How To Install Clementione On Ubuntu, Linux Mint And Elementary OS

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Clementine is an open-source, multiplatform music player, similar to Amarok 1.4, offering an intuitive and simple interface for the user. The latest version available is Clementine 1.2, which has been released a while ago.

Among other new features of Clementine 1.2, it got support for the popular cloud storage services, including Box, Dropbox, Skydrive and Ubuntu One. In order to play your songs stored on the cloud, you just have to sign. It also allows the users to restore the music played in previous sessions and got support for Subsonic. It should be soon added to the Clementine Stable PPA, so installing Clementine 1.2 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna should be easy. Just add the ppa, update the local repo index and install the clementine package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install clementine
