Create a DIY Home Security System With A Raspberry Pi And A Few Sensors

As you may know, the TechRadar geeks have created a DIY (do it yourself) home security system for the computer geeks and enthusiasts.

The Raspberry PI based home security system texts you when the beam is broken and includes a camera that takes 10 second videos, showing you the burglar’s face. Except the Pi, you need a passive infrared sensor (PIR) and a Pi Camera and a few Python and Linux skills.

How it works?

When the sensor is activated, it sends a signal to the Raspberry Pi and the camera starts recording the 10 sec video. After this time interval passes, the Raspi sends you an SMS message and shows you the video/photo taken to the burglar.
