Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, both Firefox 25.0.1 and Thunderbird 24.1.1 have been released a few days ago, bringing only security fixes to the previous version.

Now, both Firefox 25.0.1 and Thunderbird 24.1.1 have been added to the default repositories of Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and derivates, like: Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

In order to get the latest version available of Firefox and Thunderbird on the listed Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pear OS and Elementary OS systems, just update the local repository index and install the firefox and thunderbird packages:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install firefox thunderbird

Or perform a system upgrade:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
