From MWC 2014: Mozilla And Spreadtrum Will Create 25$ Firefox OS Based Entry-Level Phones

Hello Firefox OS Enthusiasts. At the Mobile World Congress 2014, the Mozilla developers have announced that they have teamed up with Spreadtrum, in important chip manufacturer, to release 25$ Firefox OS based phones, which will be sold by important phone operators like: Telenor, Telkomsel, Indosat, Polytron, T2Mobile and Thundersoft.

Also from the MWC, we found out that Firefox OS devices will be released by Telefonica in 12 new markets: Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama, while Deutsche Telekom will take it to Croatia, the Czech Republic, Macedonia, and Montenegro.

For those who don’t know yet, Firefox OS is a new Linux based mobile operating system, built by using the new HTML5 technology by the Mozilla developers. For now, it is used as default on smartphones with modest hardware specs, developed by LG, ZTE, Alcatel and Geeksphone.
