Games on Linux: How to Install Trigger Rally on Ubuntu 12.10 / Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenSUSE 12.3 / 12.2

Hello Linux Gamers.

In this article I will show you how to install Trigger Rally on Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 12.04, OpenSUSE 12.3 and OpenSUSE 12.2. Trigger Rally has a poor gameplay but we hope it will be developed further.

Trigger Rally is an open source car racing game.

System Requirements:

  • 400 MHz CPU
  • 64 MB RAM
  • OpenGL hardware accellerated video card

How to install Trigger Rally on Ubuntu 12.10 / 12.04:

It is in the default repo, so all you have to do is install the game:

$ sudo apt-get install trigger-rally

How to install Trigger Rally on OpenSUSE 12.3 / 12.2:

On OpenSUSE 12.3:

For 32 bit systems:

Add the repo:

$ sudo zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_12.3/ opensuse-games-i586

For 64 bit systems:

$ sudo zypper addrepo http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_12.3/ opensuse-games-x86_64

Refresh the repos:

$ sudo zypper refresh

Install the game:

$ sudo zypper install trigger-rally

On OpenSUSE 12.2:

Replace the 12.3 from the repository path, in the 12.3 installation guide with 12.2 and continue with the installation.
