Hello Linux Geeksters. Gedit 3.9.1 has been released for testing.
Gedit 3.9.1 is an independent release from Gnome 3.9.2 desktop and can be installed from some testing PPAs. New features: new Highlight Module dialog, widget templates, shell quotes in command via the Run Command tool.
In this article I will show you how to install Gedit 3.9.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail and Linux Mint 15. Have in mind when installing Gedit 3.9.1 that it is not a stable version, so it may break things on your computer.
This is how you install Gedit on Ubuntu and Linux Mint:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/staging
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gedit
