The Gnome team has created a new PPA dedicated for Gnome 3.10, called GNOME3-Next PPA, in order to allow the users to easily install Gnome 3.10 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander.

The developers will add to the GNOME3-Next PPA only the stable packages of the Gnome 3.10 desktop environment and some packages needed as dependencies, belonging to Gnome 3.8.
The GNOME3-Staging PPA will still contain the GNOME 3.10 unstable packages and so, when installing apps from it, also add the GNOME3-Next PPA.
For now, the GNOME-Next PPA constains only a few packages, but it useful to know how to add it: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-next
As you may know, GNOME 3.10 will be released on the 25th of September, with Wayland improvements and two new apps: GNOME Maps and GNOME Music. The Gnome Shell is being build in two separate binaries, one for X11 (libgnome-shell) and one for Wayland (libgnome-shell-wayland). Mutter, the default window manager of Gnome Shell will also use libmutter for X11 and libmutter-wayland.
