Hello Jolla Enthusiasts. As you may know, Jolla is a project developed by former Nokia employees. The first Jolla smartphone is running on Sailfish OS, a modified Megoo Linux system, which is Android compatible, uses Wayland as the default display server , uses Nokia N9′s Maliit touchscreen keyboard and comes with interchangeable covers, allowing the users to easily switch them, in order to change the color/model of the phone and comes with impressive hardware specifications.

Also, an official Sailfish OS image for the LG/Google Nexus 4 smartphone has been recently released. If you did not install Jolla’s OS on your Nexus 4 yet, you can find installation instructions here.
In this short article I will show you how to enable MP3 support for Sailfish OS running on the LG/Google Nexus 4.
Due to the fact that MP3 is proprietary, Jolla did not include default support for MP3 playback. But enabling MP3 is quite easy.
Follow the below instructions exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to enable MP3 playback on Sailfish OS running on Nexus 4:
Open a terminal, get root access and add Xerxes2 repository to your
# zypper ar http://enlisy.org/~xerxes2/pkg/sailfish/armv7hl/xerxes2-sailfish-armv7hl.repo
Update the repository index:
# zypper ref
Enable MP3:
# zypper in gst-fluendo-mp3-0.10.23-1.armv7hl
