Hello Linux Geeksters. If you have a Samsung laptop running Ubuntu 13.04/12.10/12.04, you may have some problems with the Fn keys, backlight, wireless, webcam, or bluetooth.
To make things work like a charm, Samsung provides a package that solve the user’s issues. The following PPA works for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin and derivates, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:voria/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
To enable blacklight support, for Samsung laptops, install the samsung-backlight package:
$ sudo apt-get install samsung-backlight
To fix the other problems, like bluetooth, wireless, Fn keys, install samsung-tools, from the same PPA:
$ sudo apt-get install samsung-tools
