In this article I will show you how both install the latest Dropbox version available, Dropbox 1.6.0 on Ubuntu systems and to fix the Dropbox Indicator issue on Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10.

How to install Dropbox 1.6.0 on Ubuntu:

Instructions for 32 bit systems:

$ wget https://www.dropbox.com/download?dl=packages/ubuntu/dropbox_1.6.0_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i dropbox_1.6.0_i386.deb

Instructions for 64 bit systems:

$ wget https://www.dropbox.com/download?dl=packages/ubuntu/dropbox_1.6.0_amd64.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i dropbox_1.6.0_amd64.deb

 How to fix the Dropbox Indicator Issue on Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10:

In order to fix this issue, all you have to do is update the system and install the libappindicator1 package. Like this:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libappindicator1
