Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, HexChat is an IRC client. It is based on XChat, but works on both Windows and Linux / Unix.
In this article I will show you how to install HexChat on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
Installing HexChat on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy, because it is available via PPA, so all you have to do is:
Add the PPA to your system:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/hexchat-stable
Update the local repository index:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install HexChat on Ubuntu and Linux Mint:
$ sudo apt-get install hexchat
