Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Advene (Annotate Digital Video, Exchange on the NEt) is an open-source multi platform video editor, working on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.

Advene is useful for creating presentations where the can include music, notes and others, allowing the user to save the output file in many formats. It has a good subtitle editor, making the creation of video presentations much easier. The latest version available is Advene 1.0.1.
In this article I will show you how to install Advene 1.0.1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Debian Jessie, Debian Sid, Debian Wheezy and Debian Squeeze.
Because Advene 1.0.1 is available in the default repositories of the latest Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Debian systems, installing it is easy, just update the system and install the program:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install advene
