Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Aegisub is an open-source, cross-platform tool for editing subtitles. It allows the users to easily sync subtitles with the audio, modify the text of the subtitle and stylish them. The latest version availabie is Aegisub 3.0.4, which has been released in July 2013.
In this article I will show you how to install Aegisub on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, Debian Sid, Debian Jessie, Debian Wheezy and Debian Squeeze.
Because the Aegisub version available by default on the listed systems is deprecared, we have to download the deb packages from the official site and install them with dpkg. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install Aegisub on 32 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Elementary OS and Derivates:
$ wget -c http://ftp.aegisub.org/pub/releases/aegisub_3.0.4-1_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i aegisub_3.0.4-1_i386.deb
