Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, BitTorrent Sync (BtSync) is a tool for the p2p protocol, for live syncing with maximum security. It runs on Linux, Windows and Mac. The latest version available is BitTorrent Sync 1.82.

how to install BitTorrent Sync 1.82 (BtSync 1.82) on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Pear OS 8.

In this article I will show you how to install BitTorrent Sync 1.82 (BtSync 1.82) on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux 13 Maya, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Pear OS 8.

Because it is available via ppa, installing BtSync 1.82 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS and Pear OS is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa, update the local repository index and install the btsync package. Like this:

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:eugenesan/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install btsync

To access btsync, jost go to http://127.0.0.1:8888/gui/. the default username is admin, while the password is the one set by the user.
