As you may know, BleachBit is a cleanup program, that gets rid of the temporary files on your computer, reduces the number on unnecesary files, in order to increase the free space and the system performance. BleachBit is the Linux equivalent of the CCleaner, that runs on Windows. The latest version available is BleachBit 1.0. For a list of changes and improvements, see the release notes.
In this article I will show you how to install BleachBit 1.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Debian 7 Wheezy, Debian 6 Squeeze, Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17, OpenSUSE 13.1, OpenSUSE 12.3, OpenSUSE 12.2, OpenSUSE 11.4, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and KWheezy.
Because it is not available via any repository, we have to download the deb or rpm package and install it with dpkg and rpm respectively. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation of BleachBit 1.0.
