In this article I will show you how to install BleachBit on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail and Linux Mint 15 Olivia. To install BleachBit on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya, read this article.

BleachBit is a cleanup program, that gets rid of the temporary files on your computer, reduces the number on unnecesary files, in order to increase the free space and the system performance.

BleachBit is the Linux equivalent of the CCleaner, that runs on Windows.

There are no ppas with Bleachbit, so it has to be installed from sources:

Download the sources:

$ wget -c http://katana.oooninja.com/bleachbit/sf/bleachbit_0.9.5_all_ubuntu1210.deb

Install Bleachbit:

$ sudo dpkg -i bleachbit*.deb

Fix the dependencies:

$ sudo apt-get -f install

To launch Bleachbit, use:

$ sudo bleachbit
