Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Blender 2.68 has been recently released with more than 280 bug fixes.. To get generical instructions on how to install Blender 2.68 on Linux systems, see this article.
For those who don’t know, Blender is a powerful suite for animation, modeling, interactive creation, post-production with support for a lot of file formats.
In this article I will show you how to install Blender 2.68 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya, via PPA.
All you have to do is:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/blender
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install blender
