Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may already know, As you may know, Calibre is an open-source book management software, with many interesting features including e-book conversion or e-book viewer. Being multiplatform, the app works on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.
The latest version availabie is Calibre 1.2, which has been recently released. It brings both a few new features and some bugfixes. For a full list of the changes brought by Calibre 1.2, see this link.
In this article I will show you how to install Calibre 1.2 on OpenSUSE 12.3, OpenSUSE 12.2 and OpenSUSE 12.1.
It is not available via any repository yet, but we can easily download the rpm packages and install them by hand, with rpm -i. Follow the instructions for your system and architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install Calibre 1.2 on OpenSUSE 12.3:
For 32 bit systems:
$ wget -c download.opensuse.org/repositories/Documentation:/Tools/openSUSE_12.3/i586/calibre-1.2-142.1.i586.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i calibre-1.2-142.1.i586.rpm
For 64 bit systems:
$ wget -c download.opensuse.org/repositories/Documentation:/Tools/openSUSE_12.3/x86_64/calibre-1.2-142.1.x86_64.rpm
$ sudo rpm -i calibre-1.2-142.1.x86_64.rpm
How to install Calibre 1.2 on OpenSUSE 12.2:
For 32 bit systems:
