Hello Linux Geeksters. Cinnamon 1.9.1 has been released about 20 hours ago. It is highly unstable, so it should not be installed on production machines, only for testing purposes. It is recommended to install it on Ubuntu / Linux Mint distributions inside virtual machines, in order not to break your operating system.
In this article I will show you how to install the Cinnamon 1.9 nightly release on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Cinnamon 1.9.1 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint is easy. All you have to do is:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-nightly
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install cinnamon
