Hello Linux Geeksters. In this article I will show you how to install Darktable on 1.2.1 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
Darktable Description, from the official site:
Darktable is an open source photography workflow application and RAW developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.
It is released under the GNU General Public Licence and works for Linux, OS X and Solaris.
On Ubuntu and Linux Mint, it can be installed via PPA.
For installing the stable releases, do this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install darktable
For installing the stable releases with some extras:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release-plus
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install darktable
For installing the unstable releases:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-unstable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install darktable
