How To Install Deepin Desktop Environment On Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Deepin has its own desktop environment, called Deepin DE. In this article I will show you how to install the Deepin Desktop Environment on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail and Linux Mint 15 Olivia.

Follow this steps for a successful installation.

Add the Deepin Repository to your Ubuntu / Linux Mint system:

$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://packages.linuxdeepin.com/deepin raring main non-free universe" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb-src http://packages.linuxdeepin.com/deepin raring main non-free universe" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'

Download and import the public key:

$ wget http://packages.linuxdeepin.com/deepin/project/deepin-keyring.gpg
$ gpg --import deepin-keyring.gpg
$ sudo gpg --export --armor 209088E7 | sudo apt-key add -

Update the local repository index:

$ sudo apt-get update

Install Deepin DE:

$ sudo apt-get install dde-meta-core

This is it. Just reboot and choose Deepin DE from the login screen.
