Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Deluge is an open source, multi-platform BitTorrent client, built by using the GTK+ libraries. The latest version available is Deluge 1.3.6. For more information, see the official changelog.
In this article I will show you how to install Deluge 1.3.6 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Debian Jessie, Elementary OS 0.2 Luna and Pear OS 8.
Because it is available in the default repositories of Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 13.04, Linux Mint 16, Linux Mint 15, Debian Jessie and Pear OS 8, installing Deluge 1.3.6 is easy. All we have to do is make sure that the system is up to date and install the deluge package:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install deluge
For Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 14, Linux Mint 13 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna, we will need to add the Deluge PPA first, in order to install Deluge 1.3.6:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:deluge-team/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install deluge
