Hello Linux Geeksters. DigiKam is a photo management application, designed for importing, organizing and exporting digital photos to your computer. It has a simple and fast interface. It also has a quick Image Editor,and allows you to comment, rate, correct or alter photographies. The latest version available is DigiKam 4.0 Beta 3, which has been released a while ago. In this article I will show you how to install DigiKam 4.0 Beta 3 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra.
Because it is available via PPA, installing DigiKam 4.0 Beta 3 is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the digikam package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:msylwester/digikam
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install digikam
