Hello Linux Geeksters. Double Commander is an cross-platform, open-source file manager, inspired by Total commander. The latest unstable version available is Double Commander 0.6.0, while the latest stable version available is Double Commander 0.5.6. More information can be found on the official page.
In this article I will show you how to install Double Commander on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS via PPA.
Follow the instructions above for a successful installation.
How to install Double Commander 0.5.6 stable on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna:
Add the repository:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexx2000/doublecmd
Update the repository index:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install Double Commander 0.5.6:
$ sudo apt-get install doublecmd
How to install Double Commander 0.6.0 unstable on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna:
Add the repository:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexx2000/doublecmd
