Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, FlareGet is a multi-threaded, multi-segment popular download manager and accelerator, working on Linux. (like uGet or XDMAN).
The latest version available is FlareGet 4.2-92, which has been recently released, coming with the below changes:
- fixed thread management issue causing crash under heavy usage
- fixed site manager history bug in Mac
- added support for executing shell commands at end of downloads
- updated file renaming logic to add index before file extension
- other minor bug fixes and improvements
In this article I will show you how to install FlareGet 4.2-92 on the most popular Ubuntu, Debian and derivative systems including: Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Pinguy OS, Elementary OS, Deepin, LXLE, Linux Lite, Peppermint, Debian, Kwheezy, SparkyLinux.
Because it is not available via any repository or PPA, we have to download the package from the official site and install it by hand. Follow the instructions for your system and architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install FlareGet 4.2-92 on Ubuntu, Debian and derivative systems:
Instructions for 32 bit systems:
$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget flareget.com/files/flareget/debs/i386/flareget_4.2-92_i386.deb
$ sudo gdebi flareget_4.2-92_i386.deb
Instructions for 64 bit systems:
$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ wget flareget.com/files/flareget/debs/amd64/flareget_4.2-92_amd64.deb
$ sudo gdebi flareget_4.2-92_amd64.deb
Optional, to remove flareget, do:
$ sudo apt-get remove flareget
