Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Format Junkie Converter is a nice GUI tool that converts a lot of audio and video formats, even ISOs to CSO disk images. It also converts images, to the most popular image format.

Among others, it enables the users to convert audio, video and image files to and from the following formats:
- Audio: mp3, mp2, wav, ogg, wma, flac, m4r, m4a, aac
- Video: avi, ogv, vob, mp4, vob, flv, 3gp, mpg, mkv, wmv
- Image: jpg, png, ico, bmp, svg, tif, pcx, pdf, tga, pnm
The latest version available is Format Junkie Converter 1.07.
In this article I will show you how to install the Format Junkie Converter on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
For Ubuntu 13.04, Ubuntu 12.10, Ubuntu 12.04, Linux Mint 15, Linux Mint 14, Linux Mint 13, Pear OS 8, Pear OS 7 and Elementary OS 0.2, it is available via PPA. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the formatjunkie package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:format-junkie-team/release
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install formatjunkie
For Ubuntu 13.10 and Linux Mint 16, we can use the Format Junkie package for Ubuntu Raring. Follow the instructions for your system’s architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation:
Instructions for 32 bit systems:
$ wget https://launchpad.net/~format-junkie-team/+archive/release/+files/formatjunkie_1.07-1~raring0.2_i386.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i formatjunkie_1.07-1~raring0.2_i386.deb
$ sudo apt-get install -f
Instructions for 64 bit systems:
$ wget https://launchpad.net/~format-junkie-team/+archive/release/+files/formatjunkie_1.07-1~raring0.2_amd64.deb
