How To Install Fotoxx 14.07 On Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander And Their Derivative Systems

Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Fotoxx is an open source photo editing program, working on Linux. It has support for the most important image formats, including JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF and RAW. Fotoxx is mostly used for cropping, resizing or retouching photos, without using layers, like Photoshop.

The latest version available is Fotoxx 14.07, which has been released a while ago, having support only for Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10 and derivatives. Among others, it comes with a smaller main, a batch upright feature that will automatically find and upright photos turned at 90 degrees, the Mashup function has received some improvements and a new feature that enables the users to save an image with selected areas to PNG with unselected parts transparent, has been implemented. Installing Fotoxx on Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10 and derivative systems is easy. Just download the deb package from the official site and install it, via command-line. Follow the instructions for your system and architecture exactly, in order to get a succeesful installation.

How to install Fotoxx 14.07 on 32 bit Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 systems:

$ wget kornelix.com/uploads/1/3/0/3/13035936/fotoxx-14.07-i686.deb
$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ sudo gdebi fotoxx-14.07-i686.deb

Optional, to remove fotoxx, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove fotoxx

How to install Fotoxx 14.07 on 64 bit Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 systems:

$ wget www.kornelix.com/uploads/1/3/0/3/13035936/fotoxx-14.07-x86_64.deb
$ sudo apt-get install gdebi
$ sudo gdebi fotoxx-14.07-x86_64.deb

Optional, to remove fotoxx, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove fotoxx
