Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, FrostWire is a free, open-source, cross-platform BitTorrent application, running on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. The latest version available is FrostWire 5.6.8, which has been released recently. For information about the fixes brought by the latest version, see the official changelog.

In this article I will show you how to install FrostWire 5.6.8 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Crunchbang, KWheezy, Elementary OS and Pear OS.

Because it is not available via ppa yet, we have to download the FrostWire deb package and install it with dpkg:

$ wget -c dl.frostwire.com/frostwire/5.6.8/frostwire-5.6.8.all.deb
$ sudo dpkg -i frostwire-5.6.8.all.deb
$ sudo apt-get install -f
