Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Geary is a lightweight email client, written in Vala, built for the Gnome desktop. It is also the default mail client on Elementary OS 0.2 Luna. The latest version available is Geary 0.6.0, which has been released a while ago, coming with the below changes:

- Basic search scope operators, such as from
- An oft-requested “save sent mail” option for non-Gmail users
- Separate actions for archive, trash, and delete
- Much improved server support — if you found Geary unusable in the past on a Dovecot or other non-“cloud service” server, I’d urge you to give it another go
- Many stability, speed, and interface improvements and bugfixes
In this article I will show you how to install Geary 0.6.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Linux Mint 16 Petra.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Geary 0.6.0 on Ubuntu 13.10 and Linux Mint 16 is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the geary package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install geary
