As you may know, Gnome Classic brings the old Gnome 2 interface to the Ubuntu users. It is still available in the Ubuntu Software Center, since many users declined to Gnome 3.

Because it is available in the default repositories of the latest versions of Ubuntu available, installing Gnome Classic (Gnome Fallback) is easy. Just update the system and install the package:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback

Next, reboot and choose “Gnome Fallback” from the login menu.
