Gnome Shell 3.10 Beta 3 (Gnome Shell 3.9.92) has been released a while ago. As you may know, the Gnome developers have been working hard in the latest weeks, in order to add Wayland support for Gnome Shell 3.

With Gnome Shell 3.10 Beta 3 (Gnome Shell 3.9.92), also Mutter Wayland 3.9.92 has been released, bringing support for Wayland, without depending on X11 or XWayland.
Gnome 3.10 should be released on the 25th of September, 2013. Fedora 20 will be the first distribution to come with Gnome 3.10 running on Wayland, since both the Intel and Red Hat developers have contributed to bringing Wayland support for the Gnome Desktop Environment.
In this article I will show you how to install Gnome Shell 3.10 Beta 3 (Gnome Shell 3.9.92) on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander and Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail.
Installing Gnome Shell 3.10 Beta 3 (Gnome Shell 3.9.92) on the latest Ubuntu versions available is easy, since it has been added to the Ricotz’s testing PPA. All you have to do is add the needed ppas to your system, update the local repository index and install the gnome-shell package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
$ sudo apt-get install gnome-shell gnome-shell-extensions
