Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Homerun Kicker is an open source, lightweight menu for the KDE distribution, created by the Netrunner developers. Among others, it enables the users to easily open apps, via the menu, which is similar to Mate’s one. The latest version available is Homerun Kicker 1.1.0, which has been recently released.
In this article I will show you how to install Homerun Kicker 1.1.0 on Kubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salander, Kubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Kubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia and Linux Mint 14 Nadia, using the KDE desktop environment.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Homerun Kicker 1.1.0 on Kubuntu and Linux Mint systems using KDE is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the plasma-widget-homerun-kicker package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:blue-shell/homerun
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install plasma-widget-homerun-kicker
