Hello Linux Geeksters. The KDE developers have recently released Homerun Kicker 1.2.0, a lightweight open-source menu that enables the users to easily access their favorite applications. The menu provides the apps displayed in categories and a search bar. Also, bug-fixes for systemd and a bunch of GUI enhancements have been integrated in the latest version of Homerun Kicker.
In this article I will show you how to install Homerun Kicker 1.2.0 on Kubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr and Kubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Homerun Kicker 1.2.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 is easy. All you have to do is add the ppa to your system, update the local repository index and install the plasma-widget-homerun-kicker package. Like this:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:blue-shell/homerun
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install plasma-widget-homerun-kicker
