Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may already know, HotShots is a lightweight screenshot tool with editing options. It has the same features as Shutter despite the fact that it is lighter. Hotshots 2.0.1 has been released recently, bringing the following improvements to the previous version. For more information, see the official changelog.
In this article I will show you how to install HotShots 2.0.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Hotshots 2.0.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is add the repo to the system, update the local repo index and install the hotshots package:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install hotshots
