How To Install HPLIP 3.1.17 On Linux Systems

The latest version available is HPLIP 3.1.17, which comes with support for Debian 7.1 Wheezy, Fedora 19 and the latest versions of Ubuntu.

HPLIP 3.1.17 works for the following HP printers:

  • HP Deskjet 1010 Printer
  • HP Deskjet 1012 Printer
  • HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer
  • HP ENVY 5535 e-All-in-One Printer
  • HP Officejet 7610 Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer

Because it comes as a precompiled library, all you have to do is download it, set execution permissions and run the installer:
$ wget -c http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/hplip/hplip-3.13.7.run
$ sudo chmod +x hplip-3.13.7.run
$ ./hplip-3.13.7.run
