Hello Linux Geeksters. I think you all know or at least heard about Caffeine, the popular application that prevents the dim screen action while running some programs. KaffeineTY is an application similar to Caffeine, doing the same thing, but part of the KDE project.
Kaffeine 0.0.1 has been released this year in July, and is not available via any PPA yet, but installing it on Linux systems is easy. Follow this steps exactly for a successful installation:
$ wget -c kde-apps.org/CONTENT/content-files/159860-KaffeineTY.zip
$ unzip 159860-KaffeineTY.zip
$ cd KaffeineTY
$ mkdir build
$ cd build
$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
$ sudo make install
Because this is a generical installation guide, the instructions work for the most popular Linux systems, including: Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Debian Jessie, Debian Sid, Debian Wheezy, Debian Squeeze, Mageia 4, Mageia 3, OpenSUSE 13.1, OpenSUSE 12.3, OpenSUSE 12.2, Fedora 19, Fedora 18, Fedora 17 and many others.
