How to install Kernel 3.14.2 on 32 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS systems:

Download the needed packages:

$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-headers-3.14.2-031402_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_all.deb
$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-headers-3.14.2-031402-generic_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_i386.deb
$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-image-3.14.2-031402-generic_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_i386.deb

Install Kernel 3.14.2:

$ sudo dpkg -i linux-image-3.14.2*.deb linux-headers-3.14.2*.deb

How to install Kernel 3.14.2 on 64 bit Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS systems:

Download the needed packages:

$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-headers-3.14.2-031402_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_all.deb
$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-headers-3.14.2-031402-generic_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_amd64.deb
$ wget kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.14.2-utopic/linux-image-3.14.2-031402-generic_3.14.2-031402.201404262053_amd64.deb

Install Kernel 3.14.2:

$ sudo dpkg -i linux-image-3.14.2*.deb linux-headers-3.14.2*.deb

To uninstall the kernel, do:

$ sudo apt-get remove linux-image-3.14.2* linux-headers-3.14.2*
