How to Install Kernel 3.8.3 on Linux Mint 15 / 14 / 13 and Ubuntu 13.04 / 12.10 / 12.04

Hello Linux Geeksters.

In this article I will show you how to install Kernel 3.8.3 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.

Install Kernel 3.8.3 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint:

Download Kernel 3.8.3:

$ wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47950494/upubuntu.com/kernel-3.8.3

Set execution rights:

$ chmod +x kernel-3.8.3

Install the kernel:

$ sudo sh kernel-3.8.3

Reboot:

$ sudo reboot
