Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, KrISS Feed is a lightweight web rss reader, allowing the users to easily access it from any computer, over the internet. Among others, Kriss allows the user to customize the inteerface, menu and apperance, update feeds manually or automatically, via Cron, import and export OPML feed lists. The latest version available is KrISS Feed 8.
In this article I will show you how to install KrISS Feed 8 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Follow these instructions exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
Install the needed dependencies:
$ sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5 php5-curl
Download and install KrISS:
$ wget https://raw.github.com/tontof/kriss_feed/master/index.php -O /tmp/index.php
$ sudo mkdir /var/www/kriss
$ sudo cp /tmp/index.php /var/www/kriss/
$ sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/kriss/
Next, connect to kriss by typing http://localhost/kriss in the browser’s address bar, enter the username and password for Kriss and click “Install Kriss Feed”.
