The first release candidate of LibreOffice 4.1.0, LibreOffice 4.1 RC1 has been released yesterday. The RC1 brings 62 fixes since the latest beta 2 version. To read more about the new features and bugfixes, see the official announcement.
In this article I will show you how to install LibreOffice 4.1 RC 1 on Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
There is no PPA available for now, so we have to download the archive and install the DEB files, with dpkg.
How to install LibreOffice 4.1.0 RC1 on 32 bit systems:
$ wget -c http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/testing/4.1.0/deb/x86/LibreOffice_4.1.0.1_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz
$ tar -xzvf LibreOffice_4.1.0.1_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz
$ cd LibreOffice_4.1.0.1_Linux_x86_deb/DEBS
$ sudo dpkg -i *.deb
How to install LibreOffice 4.1.0 RC1 on 64 bit systems:
$ wget -c download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/testing/4.1.0/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_4.1.0.1_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz
