Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, LibreOffice is an open-source popular Office Suite application, running on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. The latest version available is LibreOffice 4.1.1, which has been recently released. For a full list of features and improvements, see the official changelog.In this article I will show you how to install LibreOffice 4.1.1 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, Debian, Crunchbang OS, Deepin, Knoppix and many other Ubuntu and Debian derivates.
LibreOffice 4.1.1 is available via PPA, only for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia and Linux Mint 13 Maya. To install it, do:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice
To install LibreOffice 4.1.1 on Debian and Ubuntu derivates, download the archive from the official site and install the needed packages. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation:
