Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Liferea (Linux Feed Reader) is a simple and lightweight news aggrecator with a GTK interface. Among other features, it can be syncronized with TinyTinyRSS or TheOldReader and has full support for Google Reader which reached EOL at the beginning of the month, it supports tabs and is capable of downloading feeds for online reading.
In this article I will show you how to install Liferea on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia and Linux Mint 13 Maya.
The latest version available is Liferea 1.10.1a, but it is not availabla via PPA, or at least not yet. Anyway, if you still want to install it, download it from sourceforge.net.
As an alternative, you can install Liferea 1.9.99 from the liferea development PPA. All you have to do is:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:liferea/development
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install liferea
