Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, LightRead is yet another Google Reader alternative. It is very lightweight, allowing the users to read the news offline and has a good Unity integration. It requires a Google account, in order to sync your feeds with the Google Reader account.
In this article I will show you how to install Lightread 1.2.2 on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via PPA, installing Lightread 1.2.2 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS is easy. All you have to do is:
Add the repository:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cooperjona/lightread
Update the local repository index:
$ sudo apt-get update
Install Lightread 1.2.2:
$ sudo apt-get install lightread
