Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Lince is a BitTorrent client based on azureus and gtkmm, running on the libtorrent library. The latest version available is Lince 1.3, which has recently received support for Ubuntu 14.04.


In this article I will show you how to install Lince 1.3 (BitTorrent Client) on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 14 Nadia, Linux Mint 13 Maya and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.
Because it is available via the GetDeb PPA, installing Lince 1.3 on Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Elementary OS is easy. Follow the instructions for your system exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install Lince 1.3 on Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17:
$ wget -q -O - http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu trusty-getdeb games" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/getdeb.list'
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install lince
Optional, to remove lince, do:
