In this article I will show you how to install MythTV 0.27 on Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Ubuntu 13.10 Saucy Salamander, Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, Linux Mint 16 Petra, Linux Mint 15 Olivia, Linux Mint 13 Maya, Pear OS 8 and Elementary OS 0.2 Luna.

    upon attempting to run the first command the system returned
    “sudo: apt-add-repository: command not found”
    did you even test this procedure?

      yes, I have tested it. THE COMMAND IS add-apt-repository NOT apt-add-repository. If you don’t have the add-apt-repository command installed, do this:

      $ sudo apt-get install software-properties-common python-software-properties
